You’ll be part of a mature department that both supports our current installed base and enables the next generation software products in comprehensive cancer care. With talented co-workers whose passion and willingness to go above and beyond, and a workspace committed to excellence, you will thrive in a collaborative environment.Your immediate responsibility will be to lead the software engineering teams responsible for Varian’s platforms and middleware across client-server and cloud architectures. The team of 45 is spread across North America, Europe, and India.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of talented software developers.
- Create a positive and engaging team environment in line with the company culture principles.
- Execute and contribute to product development roadmaps.
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure a quality high standard for all the team's deliverables
- Closely coordinate with your direct partners in systems architecture, product management, program management, and business operations.
- Coordinate and collaborate with installations, service, and product teams who support and consume our platforms.
- Closely collaborate with other cross functional teams in an international environment.
- Lead and support the team in implementing an agile, innovative and state-of-the-art software development process.
- Take mitigation measures in case of unexpected challenges and drive escalations.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory and other quality management systems.
Requirements
- 15 years of software engineering.
- 10 years of people management.
- 5 years of managing managers.
- Experience in establishing a high performing software development team fostering a collaborative and innovative culture, with a focus on building expertise & empowerment.
- Strong technical skills in software development and related processes (Scrum), ideally in a regulated environment.
- A passion for software craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
- Experience in collaborating with international partner teams (North America, Europe and India).
- Excellent communication skills plus fluent in English.
- Interpersonal skills: problem solving, conflict management and a strong emotional intelligence are your key attributes.
- Strategic thinking, assertiveness, organizational talent and results oriented work are amongst your top strengths.
- High quality awareness and readily accepting ownership and responsibility are a must.
